Meet the Executive Board

Marie Mendoza

PRESIDENT

Marie is a senior politics major who is nonetheless super committed to making our chapter as professional as possible. She is currently participating in the 4 + 1 BA and Master's of Public Policy Program at Catholic University. When you are in a room with her, you know she is committed to making this country a better place! 

She previously served as the Advocacy Director, and she looks forward to making Catholic U College Democrats the best it can possibly be.

Emma Bonney

VICE PRESIDENT

Emma is a junior majoring in Politics. She is currently serving as one of the two SGA Senators for the School of Arts and Sciences. Her love of politics and service began to cultivate when she was a pager in the Louisiana House of Representatives!! 

She previously served as the Executive Secretary and is a proud College Democrat at the Catholic University of America.

Griffin Reed

TREASURER

Griffin Reed is a sophomore from Seattle, Washington. He interned for two campaigns, worked at a closet company, and worked the register at his local Dairy Queen. He has much experience with campaigns, such as being an intern for the Democratic National Coalition last summer, and was a campaign intern for the city council campaign of Sara Nelson. 

He previously served as one of the secretaries of the Student Government Association and as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Bell Society. He currently serves as the Executive Secretary of the Bell Society.

Dominick Marshall

POLITICAL DIRECTOR

Dominick is a senior politics major at Catholic U, originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. He has previously campaigned for elected officials like Governor Abigail Spanberger and has gone on every Catholic U College Democrats Campaign Trip. He has also interned for high profile leaders on Captiol Hill.

Grace Beurket

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Grace is a sophomore politics major from Pennsylvania who loves the advocacy-based angle of College Dems. She previously was a Freshman Representative in Dems and is currently a member of the Catholic University Cheer Team. 

Emmy Ward

EVENTS DIRECTOR

Emmy is a junior majoring in Politics from West Virginia. She was previously a law intern at Kratovil Law PLLC and at the West Virginia Democratic Party.  She was a U.S. Senate Page in high school and was the campaign manager for Priscilla Rodd's successful campaign in West Virginia. She is a self-registered voter registrar in West Virginia and has registered voters at her high school. 

She previously served at Catholic U College Democrats as Freshman Representative, and this will be her second year as Events Director.

Matt Nichols

ALUMNI DIRECTOR

Matt is a senior majoring in Media and Communications with a minor in Marketing Management. He is the media director and camera operator for the Catholic University Athletics Department. He previously served as the digital communications intern for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington and campaigned hard for Abigail Spanberger last fall. This will be his third stint as Alumni Director.

He is an operations assistant in the Pryz and is a dedicated Catholic U Democrat at heart!

Teddy Byrdy

Teddy is a senior majoring in Politics at Catholic U College Democrats. He has spent a lot of time on the Politics Undergraduate Advisory Board and looks forward to bringing his experience to Catholic U College Democrats.

Austin Janssen

CHIEF OF STAFF

Austin is a senior majoring in Politics and minoring in Writing. Outside of Dems, he is the Alumni Director of the Bell Society, a Knight of Columbus, a two-time Congressional Intern, and a member of the Cornerstone Program.  He previously was the Treasurer of CUA Dems as well as a Freshman Representative, the first President of the Bell Society, and the DC College Democrats Treasurer.
