General Body Meetings (GBMs): General Body Meetings serve as an important monthly gathering for the club to conduct official business and engage with members. The Executive Board presents officer reports and outlines upcoming events for the month, ensuring all members are informed and involved. A group activity is also included to promote engagement and connection.
Events: Catholic U College Dems host a variety of events throughout the year to foster community, learning, and fun among members. Dem Highlight Night offers a valuable opportunity for students to share their professional experiences and gain insight into potential career paths. Monthly Game Nights feature interactive activities such as Jeopardy, Trivia, Kahoot, and Board Games, providing a relaxed and entertaining environment to connect with peers. In addition, we organize weekend events, including a D.C. outing before every General Body Meeting, allowing members to explore the city together and build lasting memories.
Speaker and Alumni Events: We host speaker and alumni events that offer members valuable insights and networking opportunities. Guest speakers, from both the university private sector or club alumni, are invited to share their knowledge and experiences, often joining via Zoom to allow for broader access and flexibility. To maintain strong connections with past members, we hold at least one alumni involvement event each semester, like reunions or a panel discussion. These gatherings help bridge the gap between current students and alumni, fostering mentorship and long-term professional relationships.
