The intern will support all staff and clients in tasks such as: marketing/communications, financial reconciliation, event support and management, research, editing/writing, social media outreach and management, database management, and other office operations/administrative tasks.

Campaign Field Internship
The Phyllis Randall for Loudoun County Board Chair campaign is looking for hardworking students who are interested in gaining campaign field experience this fall. Chair Randall flipped the Loudoun County Board’s at-large chair seat blue for the first time in 2015, making her the first woman of color ever to chair a county board in Virginia. This race to #KeepLoudounBlue is considered to be one of the most competitive campaigns across the Commonwealth this year.
Internship Details:
The field internship with our campaign is a fantastic way for students interested in political campaigns to gain direct, hands on experience with all things field and to work closely with both staff and the candidate. Field Interns will work from our Campaign HQ and will have the opportunity to attend and assist with events across the region. We are looking for hardworking students (high school, college, or recent grads) that would like to gain experience in this field (previous campaign volunteer or internship experience is a plus but is not required to apply).
The time commitment and duration of the internship is flexible and dependent on the individual’s own schedule. Admittance to the program is on a rolling basis. While this position is unpaid, our Field Interns will be an integral part of the office, interacting with the candidate and staff regularly.
Internship duties include:
● Assisting the campaign’s field director with voter mobilization
● Maintaining data integrity
● Helping staff events and assist with event logistics
● Other tasks as assigned by campaign leadership

Social Media Associate (PAID)
Swing Left is seeking a Social Media Associate to assist in channel management, research and content creation.
This is a part-time, contracted position reporting to our Social Media Manager. The Social Media Associate is expected to contribute 15-20 hours a week and will be paid a monthly stipend of $2,000.
Swing Left is a national grassroots organization that took back the House in 2018 by building a national campaign for Democratic candidates in 84 Swing Districts in three big ways: recruiting and training an army of volunteers, raising funds from grassroots donors, and building cultural momentum for the midterms. For 2020, we’ll be bringing our “campaigns-in-waiting” model to swing Senate seats, defend the House, win the state-level races needed to ensure fair maps for 2021 redistricting—and, of course, the Presidency.

DC Congressional Internship
In my Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. Students gain valuable work experience while learning about the legislative process. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, but generally run 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.
In Washington, interns' responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.
