Catholic University's College Democrats wishes our members a happy Black History Month! We invite our members to join us as we highlight and showcase how black public servants impacted not just the Democratic Party, but our country. First, we have Representative Shirley Chisholm! Rep. Chisholm was the first-ever black woman elected to the United States House of Representatives. She then went on to launch a presidential campaign and survived numerous assassination attempts during the campaign. Rep. Chisholm embodies what a true public servant is and we are forever proud of her accomplishments.
